About Lee Chain Hakim

Lee Chain Hakim is an online jewelry box devoted to vintage soul gold pieces. The brand curates a selection of beautiful and rare vintage treasures as well as contemporary solid gold jewelry. 

Founded locally in 2023, from a deep appreciation for heirloom solid gold jewelry. Each vintage piece is one of one, sourced with intention, through relationships with vintage dealers, local artisans and contemporary manufacturers. The pieces are collected spontaneously with a lot of attention and over time, meant to be worn and passed on for decades.

How it all started 

Lee Chain Hakim began with a simple fascination: the way gold carries time.

I’ve always been drawn to objects that feel lived with, pieces that were worn, kept, and passed along. Clothing and jewelry that feel less like something purchased, and more like something discovered.

When I was quite young, my gold-loving, cool grandma Sima decided to slowly give away her jewelry collection to us grandchildren. She said to me, “I enjoyed it enough during my lifetime, and anyway I want to see you kids rocking it while I’m still here.”  

At the time I was totally a silver girly, so I didn’t wear them much at first. But when I got to high school I was mixing metals and exploring the gold and the love story begun. Eventually it became my signature. I loved the feeling of wearing a lot of gold, loved how it looked against my skin, and mostly loved the fact that a piece from my grandma was always with me. Each piece carrying its own history.

I became fascinated by the material itself - gold can last forever, so naturally it moves from a mother to her daughter, from a father to a son, always cherished along the way. Plus… it’s so boss.

At the time I was working in fashion-tech and styling, and when I received one of my first big-girl paychecks I decided I wanted to buy my own gold. I went to a trusted local gold dealer and built myself a charm necklace. Each charm told a piece of my own story.  

I styled it with a few necklaces I already had and together it became a bit of a showstoppa, a conversation starter. People began asking about it, wanting me to take them to my gold suppliers and help style their necks. People started sharing their own gold stories with me. 

I thought to myself: “buying and wearing gold for myself is fun… but curating and styling it for others to have forever? sounds very dreamy.”

So I started intuitively collecting and posting gold pieces for sale on my social media - only pieces I would want to wear myself. Pretty quickly the brand grew and I somehow became your favorite local gold dealer. As more orders began coming in from overseas, I decided to open this website to make it easier for everyone to discover and shop my treasures.

Lee Chain Hakim is built around the idea of thoughtful collecting - honoring stories, creating new memories, and pouring your personal style into a piece of luxury jewelry.
